More than 40,000 people died from breast cancer last year. When Tracy Forman died in 2008 from the disease, her husband, Mark Forman, was devastated but determined to save the lives of other cancer patients.
"The Foundation's sole purpose is to help the individuals who are currently fighting this disease by funding early tests that insurance does not cover, yet could potentially save their lives. Additionally, we will continue to fund the continual research need to find a cure," says Forman.
In less than a year, he formed Forman's Foundation To Find A Cure, a non-profit organization aimed at creating awareness, funding and stopping the disease. Together with volunteers and celebrities--ranging from actors to athletes, Mark hosted the first Forman Celebrity Golf Tournament in Rancho Bernardo at the Maderas Golf Club.
Actors, NFL players, famous golfers, comedians, newscasters, jockeys, baseball players, breast cancer survivors, volunteers, and people who wanted to make a difference joined together for the first of what is now an annual Celebrity Golf Tournament fundraiser.
