We're going back in time to the old days in this video tip to show you a simple technique that you can do on your own for an on-camera read that will look like you're simply talking to the viewers.
Many people have heard of cue cards or note cards. They are those cards that TV shows and newscasts used before teleprompters were invented. A cue card holder would stand out of sight of the camera and the talent would read from the card.
Then the teleprompter was invented and ousted many cue card holders. However, because of the mobility of some TV shows, cue cards are still being used. But cue cards, much like boom mic operators, (used for capturing sound without wireless mics) require an operator to hold the equipment/cards.
But there is a way to do it on your own, you just need to know the right technique. So in Episode 3 of our Live Fit Magazine Online Video Tips, I show you how it's done. Click the video to see.

Marketing your business with online video is a simple solution to addressing and meeting not only your customers needs but their curiosity too.
Customers want to understand your business within the first few minutes of landing on your site. You can make it easy for them by featuring videos that tell them exactly what you do, how you help them, and how you're a resource for them.

Branding and marketing a business is about developing a reputation that sets you apart from the competition. Many companies wouldn't think of not having a business card, brochure or newsletter. Why? Because it explains what they do. Good marketing materials give helpful information to the customers--they're resources to help encourage consumers to act now and choose your company.
Take a look at this newsletter for Marrokal Design & Remodeling in San Diego, click here. Embeded in the newsletter are two video stories. One is a before and after testimonial. The other video offers information on green remodeling. Both videos, produced by Live Fit Magazine, focus on helping consumers learn more about the remodeling industry. They are not a hard sell. They are informational and helpful and provide the consumer with more knowledge than a quick 30-second commercial or banner ad.
Today's consumers are savvy, they want resources and knowledge from companies, not just to be sold something. They want to know that a company will provide them with information that helps encourage their decision. Today's consumers have many ways to get information. They want a relationship with a trusted company.
Using online videos allows your company to accurately convey your company's message in a way that consumers will hear it loud and clear. Through a 3-minute feature story that aims to give information about your specialty, you are showing your company's expertise, knowledge, and giving them reason to pick up the phone and call you in order to gain more insight and have their needs met. All of that is done without you or your staff having to even pick up the phone because your online video works for you delivering your message 24/7, 365-days of the year.

If you have a website but no video, you'll soon be behind the times.
Research from VideoBloom shows that of 100 companies 51 percent of the companies had video on their home page, 79 percent had video somewhere on their site, and 21 percent didn’t use any video on their Web site.
Okay, so you say, "That's only 100 companies". But think about this. Search engines may not rank you nearly as high as your competitor who has a video. Sound alarming? Times are changing and that means your website has to as well. How about the fact that people are sharing videos on FaceBook, YouTube, Vimeo, and other social media sites? A viral video campaign is a social media movement.
Video is making huge advances on the web, via smartphones, electronic readers, and other mobile devices. Take a look around you. You'll see people are watching videos everywhere and from all over the Internet.
Videos help explain your product and service all while helping customers get to know you. Look at this short video of the Psoriasis Foundation.
